Geo-tech includes both soil mechanics and rock mechanics. In maximum case rock mechanics is used in mining industry. Rock mechanics is the study of behavior of rock in a stress field. Obviously the behavior of rock is called DIANE. D means discontinuous. I means inhomogeneous. A means anisotropic. N means non-linear and E means Elastic.
